Christian Diaz was elected to the Board of Education in November,
2015. He is the son of two hard working individuals who emigrated from
Mexico in the pursuit of a better future for their children. Mr.
Diaz has been a resident of El Monte since his birth and has grown up
witnessing the many challenges, development and opportunities the
community has had within the last few years.
Mr. Diaz is a product of the Mountain View School District schools
and attended Mountain View High School. He graduated from the University
of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science
and Sociology and a minor in Chicano/a Studies. He then pursued his
Juris Doctorate and a Master’s in Social Work at the University of
Southern California and is currently working at Huntington Memorial
Hospital as a Counselor/Social Worker.
Mr. Diaz serves as a member of the Rio Hondo College Community
Oversight Committee representing the city of El Monte as well as a Board
of Director for Hope House for the Multiple-Handicapped, Inc.
