Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) Honors MVSD
MVSD was recognized by Reading is Fundamental (RIF) SoCal for the District’s commitment to inspiring students to read. MVSD is dedicated to providing opportunities to expand its students’ home library collection and all 12 District schools actively participate in the RIF program. Through RIF, every student at every grade level is able to select a free book of their choice from a large selection of books three times a year. MVSD is the only school district in Los Angeles County to have the RIF program at all schools.
“We appreciate the acknowledgement from RIF SoCal and are very happy to provide our students with the opportunity to receive free books,” said Lillian Maldonado French, superintendent. “RIF is a wonderful program and the award is a testament to how we are using our LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan) funds to support our students.”
The award was presented to MVSD staff at a RIF SoCal event held at the California Endowment Center.
