Twin Lakes Takes a Stand Against Bullying

Twin Lakes Takes a Stand Against Bullying
The students and staff at Twin Lakes took a stand against bullying by participating in Unity Day on October 19. Sponsored by the National Bullying Prevention Center (NBPC), Unity Day is held to show that our society believes that no one child ever has to experience the physical and emotional pain of being purposefully hurt, harmed or humiliated.
Showing their support by wearing orange, the designated color for Unity Day, students and staff were together against bullying and united for kindness, acceptance and inclusion as they sent the message that every child deserves to feel safe from bullying while
at school, online or in the community. NBPC encouraged wearing orange to show a unified front that bullying will no longer be accepted in this society.
To celebrate the day, Twin Lakes’ students created art projects demonstrating kindness, friendship and other characteristics of unity. Students were also encouraged to give out cards with positive statements on them as part of random acts of kindness to each other.
