La Primaria School launched its Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program with a Hollywood-themed rally where the students showed they are the La Primaria Lion Cubs with the BIG ROAR!
PBIS, an evidence-based, data-driven framework proven to reduce disciplinary incidents, increase a school’s sense of safety and support improved academic outcomes is implemented in all 12 of the District’s schools.
Proudly wearing their T-shirts with the slogan, I am Safe, I am Kind, I am Responsible, students and staff cheered during the rally in support of the new program. Principal, Tony Lugo congratulated the students for all their hard work and shared how proud he was of all of them for striving to follow the PBIS strategies.
The high energy rally included an enthusiastic cheer led by 2nd graders, a break dancing performance from 3rd graders and raffle prizes awarded to students following the principles of PBIS. At La Primaria the Transitional Kindergarten through 5th graders are proud to be Safe, Kind and Responsible!
