Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to Magnolia Learning Center: A place for positive change. We are looking forward to working with students and their families for student success. It is important that we communicate often and work together to provide a positive, supportive environment that creates change for the students. A handbook is provided to every family and is to be read and discussed as a family, so that, everyone is familiar with the expectations and with the Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) program. It is essential that the family and school work together to make sure that the expectations are clearly known, taught and learned. Staff and parents at MLC focus on noticing students making the right choices and rewarding those behaviors. Interventions and support are put into place when a student is having continued difficulty in making good choices to meet the expectations.
The Magnolia Learning Center was developed to meet the needs of the students that have experienced difficulties at their regular school setting. We have students from 5th grade to 8th grade at MLC. Our goal in this alternative setting is to provide quality education with support services in order to help students transition back to their comprehensive school. Students are expected to make and achieve goals in Academic, Behaviors both at home and in the school environment and also College/Career goals for our ABC Curriculum.
We expect the family to use the Student-Parent handbook as a useful reference, as well as, participate in the monthly parent meetings. We encourage your questions and count on your support in making Magnolia Learning Center a positive experience. We are here to work with you to help your child progress to higher levels of success. Our office number is (626) 652-4938. Please call to collaboratively problem-solve and get to positive solutions for your child.
