The Mountain View
School District concluded the 2015-2016 school year with many exciting
activities that included promotion ceremonies for hundreds of students from
elementary, intermediate and middle school.
MVSD schools were packed with
family members clutching balloons, flowers and signs for students promoting
from 8th grade from Kranz Intermediate School, Madrid Middle School
and Monte Vista School, as well as 5th and 6th graders
promoting from Baker, Cogswell, La Primaria, Maxson, Miramonte, Monte Vista,
Parkview, Payne, Twin Lakes and Voorhis schools and the Magnolia Learning
Center.
The ceremonies
included motivational speeches by students, as well as addresses from school
administrators, teachers, school board members and district
administrators. The L.A. Hanmi Church presented scholarships to one promoting
student from each school and a scholarship was presented by the West San
Gabriel Valley Chapter of the Association of California School Administrators
(ACSA) and MVSD’s Superintendent to selected students at the 8th
grade promotions.
The promoting students were acknowledged for
their hard work and dedication and were encouraged to continue to work hard and
reach for their dreams.
