Reading Intervention Program Supports Students

Mountain View School District’s Imagine Learning Academy, a reading intervention and instruction program supporting third, fourth and fifth grade students at Payne and Voorhis Schools recently recognized student participants for their excellent attendance, program usage and growth in reading over the last four weeks.

The Imagine Learning Academy meets virtually three times a week for 30 minutes and is open to students needing extra support with reading.  The academy is run by MVSD Instructional Assistants who provide instruction utilizing the Imagine Learning online program.  In addition to the three weekly sessions, students are encouraged to go on Imagine Learning independently for 60 minutes a week.

“Our instructional assistants and students from Payne and Voorhis Schools are working very hard and as a result are making progress with their reading,” said Alicia Raygoza, Instructional Teacher on Special Assignment.  “We are so proud of our students for their participation and the growth that they have made.”

Students were celebrated at both Payne and Voorhis Schools where they were safely presented with certificates and rewards for their reading achievement.
