To support you, we’ve compiled a list of community and mental health resources that are available to help you and your family navigate any difficulties.

Please remember that you are not alone, and our MVSD school communities are here to support you. 

 

 

 

  • Crisis Hotlines:​​​​​​​

    Los Angeles County Fire Department Public Information Hotline

    Please call: 1 (323) 881-2411

    Access the LA County 211 resources online here or dial 2-1-1 for non-emergency assistance and resources. LA County 211 is also partnering with Airbnb to provide emergency shelter to displaced residents. 

    Call 1-800-273-8255 (24-hour, toll-free, confidential suicide prevention hotline available to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress).

    - Spanish-speaking counselors: 1-888-628-9454. 

    - Options for Deaf and Hard of Hearing: Call 1-800-985-5990 or text “TalkWithUs” to 66746.

  • Mental Health Applications and Wellness Resources: 

    Care Solace : 24/7/365 mental health coordination service for Mountain View School District students, staff, and their families.

    Hazel offers virtual mental health support for all students: Anxiety, depression, bullying, self-esteem, academic stress, change, and more!

    - Service is at no cost to families and is available at school and at home.

    - LACOE Mental Health & Wellness Resources (one-sheet)

    Sesame Street:  Resources (guides, videos, and activities ) for families.

    BrightLife Kids: A  CalHope  app by Brightline providing mental health and caregiving support tailored to children aged 0-12 years old and their families. BrightLife Kids is available free of charge and can be shared as a resource to caregivers and families experiencing stress. 

    Soluna App:  California’s mental health app designed for ages 13-25, offering emotional health resources. Completely free and confidential for California teens and young adults. Always. 

    Never a Bother:  Launched in 2024 by the California Department of Public Health’s Office of Suicide Prevention, this campaign aims to prevent suicide among teens and young adults in California.

    California Association of School Psychologists : Resources for teachers and families to support children and youth following a wildfire. 

    EASE The Employee Assistance Service for Education (EASE) is an assessment and brief counseling service for employees of member districts and their families. In addition, EASE provides consultation to managers and supervisors on dealing with emotional issues in the workplace.

    National Child Traumatic Stress Network Wildfire Resources: Provides guidance on supporting children affected by wildfire-related trauma.  Access resources here.
