The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) provides students with a free fresh fruit or vegetable snack during the school day.

Funded by the USDA, the program is designed to introduce children to a variety of produce, increase their overall fruit and vegetable consumption, and support the development of healthy eating habits that last a lifetime.

FFVP Highlights

  • Three Times a Week: Students receive a fresh fruit and vegetable snack at recess, providing consistent exposure to a variety of produce.
  • Exciting Variety: Students enjoy seasonal fruits and vegetables, including new and unusual options that help expand their tastes and preferences.
  • Learning Through Tasting: Each snack is accompanied by educational activities and lessons that help students understand nutrition, food origins, and the benefits of healthy eating.
  • Healthier School Culture: The program supports a culture of wellness and encourages healthy choices at school and at home.

The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program goes beyond simply offering a snack—it’s a meaningful investment in our students’ health and education.

Through regular exposure to fresh produce, students are encouraged to make healthier choices and develop lifelong habits that promote overall well-being.
