Menudo Breakfast a Fun Time for All
MVSD's annual Menudo Breakfast, held Saturday, December 9 at Twin Lakes School provided a fun and festive time for the Mountain View community.
The large crowd enjoyed performances by the Twin Lakes bands and raffle prizes were plentiful, including over 40 bicycles courtesy of donations from MVSD staff, schools, programs and associations and IS Distribution in South El Monte who generously donated five BMX Elite bicycles and two scooters for the event.
The District’s Menudo Breakfast Committee, community liaisons, nutrition service staff members, custodians, maintenance workers, administrators, support staff, and parent volunteers worked hard to ensure everyone had an enjoyable time. The El Monte Grinch also made an appearance, passing out toys to the children.
“The Menudo Breakfast is a great event that has been bringing our Mountain View staff, families and community together for a fun morning of menudo and good company for 30 years,” said Dr. Raymond Andry, Superintendent. “Our Twin Lakes bands sounded great and did a wonderful job. The raffle prizes are always a highlight and create lots of excitement and joy,” he added.
MVSD Board of Education members enjoyed spending time with Mountain View families and staff and were very proud of the Twin Lakes band members for their debut performance.
A great way to kick off the holiday season, attending the Menudo Breakfast is an annual tradition for many families in MVSD and throughout El Monte.
“We appreciate the great turnout and support for this event and all the hard work that goes into planning it. It’s definitely one of our best events of the year,” said Dr. Andry.
