Baker Elementary School has been adopted by Sierra Subaru of Monrovia for the 2023-24 school year as part of Subaru’s Love Learning initiative and AdoptAClassroom partnership. 

Representatives from Sierra Subaru of Monrovia delivered classroom supply kits for each of the 25 classrooms during the school’s weekly Friday morning assembly. 

According to Elizabeth Rubalcava, Subaru’s Love Promise Director, they research schools in proximity to the dealership to adopt and support.

“We love supporting the schools and students in our local area and we looked at Baker’s website and liked what was happening here so we decided to make it part of our AdoptAClassroom program,” said Rubalcava.  “Everyone at Subaru appreciates the commitment of teachers and all they do to provide students with the gift of learning. We know Baker has a great team and we’re happy to support them.” 

Along with the classroom supply kits, each teacher will receive $500 in funding to the AdoptAClassroom marketplace to purchase additional classroom supplies their classroom and students may need.

“We are so grateful to Sierra Subaru of Monrovia for this generous donation,” said Leticia McCorkle, principal.  “The Love Learning Supply Kits and extra funding will enhance lessons for our young scholars  in all of our classrooms.”

The teachers and students were excited to receive their supply kits and look forward to the continued partnership with Sierra Subaru.

“Thank you Subaru for the supplies.  My students and I appreciate the extra resources,” said Albert Medina, teacher.  

“We had a great time at Baker, it’s a great school,” said Rubalcava.  “We hope the extra supplies will enrich the learning environment for students and bring smiles to their faces.”
