Jacqueline Saldaña was elected to the Board of Education in November, 2015.  Ms. Saldaña is the youngest of 3 daughters born to hard working, immigrant parents who believed that a quality education was the most valuable gift they could give to their children. Through hard work and support from their parents each earned higher education degrees, dedicating their work to helping others and to promote the value of education.

 

Ms. Saldaña earned a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Education from Occidental College and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California with an emphasis on children and families. Ms. Saldaña is a lifelong resident of El Monte and a product of the Mountain View School District.

 

Ms. Saldaña has committed her professional work to serving vulnerable populations in El Monte and surrounding communities. She has worked for children with special needs, children and families in affordable housing, has worked with children and families facing mental health, behavioral, and substance abuse issues and is currently working with foster families.
